Helping to evaluate Happiness

9 February 2011

We are pleased to be working with Light Box on the Happiness Project.  In consultation with positive psychologists, Light Box (Bristol-based artists Lucy Barfoot and Lucy Duggan) run evidence-based art workshops that promote wellbeing and tackle some of the stigma associated with mental health.  Meg Attwood, our Research and Evaluation Lead will be helping them to develop and audit an evaluation framework for their projects.

We asked them what they hope to get out of the process and this is what they said: "We see working with Willis Newson as a vital step in our journey towards sustainability: when we are able to demonstrate our impacts we'll be much better placed to bid for contracts, attract new clients and become less dependent on charitable funding. We are also excited to see how we can improve the way we work."

A new series of Happiness Project workshops begin in April 2011 and focus primarily on vulnerable young people and women offenders.
