Unlocking potential through the arts

Jo Fairfax's lighting design for the entrance facade of the Bristol Heart Institute

Arts Programme for the Bristol Heart Institute
Willis Newson is managing a public art programme of seven artwork commissions for the new Bristol Heart Institute, due for completion in spring 2009. The first of its kind within adult acute services in Bristol, it aims to support the patient journey whilst creating a high quality environment. The programme is being funded by the Heart of Bristol Appeal. It has been developed in collaboration with United Bristol Healthcare Trust, Above and Beyond (the Trust’s fundraising charity), Laing O’Rourke the Trust’s Principal Supply Chain Partner and their design team Coda Architects and Fira Landscape Architects.

The seven artworks range from an entrance lighting piece, atrium mobile and outpatients’ reception desk to artworks for the ceilings of the patient bed lifts.
