Public Art Guidance
Ixia, the national public art think tank, has appointed Willis Newson to write concise and convincing guidance on commissioning art for new health initiatives.
The aim is to produce a document that informs the thinking and practice of artists and commissioners working as part of health initiatives.
The guidance, and a series of accompanying critical essays, aims to identify, test and disseminate good practice in order to raise the quality of future public art in health programmes.
It will be disseminated via the ixia website and through a programme of tailored seminars to NHS Trusts, LIFT Companies, PFI teams, Strategic Health Authorities and PCTs, Local Authority Arts Officers and others.
The seminars will be include discussion and debate and provide time for participants to develop a shared understanding and vision for their projects.
